Frequently asked questions
Everything to know about GuideHunter, for hunters, anglers and guides.
Is GuideHunter free?
Yes. GuideHunter is free for people looking for a guide, with no account and no fee. It is also free for guides and outfitters who want to list their offers.
Why do I watch an ad to see a guide's contact details?
A short, optional video ad is what keeps the app free for everyone, users and guides alike. After the ad, you see the guide's name, phone, email and website.
Can I book or pay for a trip in the app?
No. GuideHunter does not take bookings or payments. You contact the guide directly by phone, email or through their website, and you agree on dates, price, deposit and conditions with them.
How are guides checked?
Every offer is reviewed by our team before it appears on the map. That review does not replace your own checks: before booking, ask the guide which licences and permits they hold, and confirm the rules with the province's official sources.
What data does the app collect?
If you allow it, the app uses your approximate location to show how far each guide is from you, and that location stays on your phone. Ads are served by Google AdMob, with your consent where required.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. GuideHunter is coming to Android first, and an iPhone version is planned for later.
I'm a guide or an outfitter. How do I get listed?
Listing is free and done in the app. Sign in with Google, fill in your profile and add as many offers as you like. Each offer is reviewed before it goes on the map.
Which regions does GuideHunter cover?
We are starting with Québec and covering all of Canada. Guides and outfitters from anywhere can list their offers.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Signing up and listing offers are free. GuideHunter is paid for by the ads clients watch to see your contact.
Does GuideHunter take bookings?
No. The client contacts you directly by phone, email or on your website, and you book them as you already do.
Do I need a guide or outfitter licence?
You must hold the licences required where you operate. We review every offer, but staying compliant is up to you, and clients are told to check.
The app isn't on Google Play yet. How do I sign up?
Write to us at contact@kallistesoft.ca with your business name and your trips: we'll let you know at launch, so your offers are on the map from day one.
